This is probably the hardest thing for new students to comprehend, which is that regular practice is needed to achieve the results they want. The one thing I struggle with is convincing students that good practice will pay off. Good practice is structured and planned, planned with an outcome in the future that will sneak up on you when you least expect it. In years to come, friends will comment that you have an amazing gift but you will know how hard you have worked to get there..
Keeping yourself motivated a is mindset, set small goals on the guitar and eventually they will grow and before you know it what once seemed difficult will now seem easy.
If you do begin to fall in to the boredom faze and your progress on the guitar begins to suffer, perhaps try a new song to learn? Something that seems out of reach for you at your level and your not ready for...this may be the thing that brings you out of this faze or at the very least, send you back to your original practice routines.
